A federal election has been called for September 20. Let all candidates and parties know that your vote is contingent upon a promise to take action on the affordable housing crisis that currently grips Canada. The Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness has sponsored a “Vote for Housing” campaign to highlight this issue. See their Platform and add your endorsement by clicking on the Pledge to Vote button.

ADVOCATE FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING

National Council has initiated a National Action Plan to support safe secure and affordable housing for all. If you have not already chosen a way of participating (HOUSING ACTION PLAN - GET INVOLVED) you can start by copying and pasting the following message and email to your MP and MPP. Please personalize it as you see fit. “As a volunteer with the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, I personally witness how the lack of safe, secure and affordable housing adversely effects so many of our neighbours in need here in Ontario. I ask that you prioritize the creation of more public housing in order to provide a secure, permanently affordable supply of non-market housing. I look forward to your response.”
