Special Works
Special works are operated by Central or Particular Councils to help our friends in need.
Our society is committed to helping those in need “in all possible ways”. This help may therefore take many forms, from helping individuals and families in our own neighbourhood to providing shelter to, and feeding and clothing the homeless in urban centres, to assisting those who need our help in neglected regions around the world.
These activities include:
- Twinning
- Community stores
- Summer camps
- Soup kitchens
- Prison ministry
- Visiting homes for the aged, shut-ins and/or hospitals
- Shelters and affordable housing
- Drop-in centres
- Soup kitchens
- Food banks
- And other programs responding to specific community needs
“
Charity is the Samaritan who pours oil on the wounds of the traveler who has been attacked. But it is justice’s role to prevent the attacks.” Frederic Ozanam
