Easter through the eyes of a child

Easter Through the Eyes of a Child

Easter celebrates the love of God for us. If we focus on this idea, Easter will become very real. We need to look at Easter as a little child would.

They don’t think about where the tomb of Jesus was. They don’t analyze how is it possible for a dead person to come back to life? They just accept it and believe. They know it celebrates a happy event, like a birthday. They know what love is from the way their parents and grandparents love them. They see it in the food and clothes and toys they receive. They know it from the way their teachers care for them.

Easter is the greatest day of the year. It celebrates the greatest event of all time.
It speaks of the love that Jesus has for us. It tells us how he sacrificed his life for us. But it also says that God the Father, He raised Jesus back to life. He did it so that every single person who repents of his sins and believes in Him, no longer has to be separated from God. For a child, separation from the one they love is the hardest thing. When they are ill, all they want is the love of mom or dad.

So, what do we tell our little ones about Easter and Jesus? We tell them that when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, He comes to live inside our hearts and makes us a brand-new person. In this way we can be near him forever. We will never be separated from Him. We will never be alone. Nothing can ever separate us from God’s love again when we put our trust in Jesus.

We want this for every child, whether they have enough food or a warm place to sleep or not. We need to do our best to make this happen. We want them to know that they are loved by God and by us.

We celebrate Easter because we know of this love of God. It overflows in our lives. Jesus tells us that in order to inherit the Kingdom of God, we must become like little children. So, this Easter come to the tomb with the eyes and heart of a child. Receive Jesus again as your Savior and your friend.

Happy Easter
