SSVP's Christmas Outreach Luncheon and basket distribution

Untitled Document This year's St. Mary Immaculate Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SSVP) Conference's Christmas Outreach Luncheon and basket distribution was our biggest and best ever. We ordered 170 adult meals and 40 children meals. Aroma Kitchen did a great job with the menu. The food was delicious. It worked out real well...a special thanks goes to Mark, Patrick and Jose who worked with the delivery and pick up details.

The children were very thrilled with their creations at the craft table, meeting Santa Claus, singing Christmas carols, and tasting delicious homemade gingerbread cookies.

It was very impressive to receive all the extra help from the Catholic Women's League, Knights of Columbus, student volunteers, and our committee and their family members as well as the abundance in generosity of the local community. Everyone worked so very hard to see that our neighbors felt welcome and were happy with their dinner, the wonderful time and gifts.

We can now enjoy our Christmas knowing that we helped so many local families to make their Christmas special.

That so many of our neighbours made the effort to join us on a really frigid and stormy day is evidence of the importance of the work we do and the depth of the relationships that have been established in the community.

Merry Christmas to all! May 2014 continue to allow us to work towards greater social peace and justice for all.
