Ottawa thrift store opens high-end "pop up" for menswear

(posted: December 12, 2015)

The Paul is a pop up store that has opened recently at the corner of Metcalfe and Albert St. This pop up store features an incredibly generous and unique assortment of high end men's fashion. The apparel is all from a gracious donations by Stollery's. Stollery's was located in Toronto at the corner of Yonge and Bloor and had been open since 1901. Now that their doors are closed all of their clothing has travelled to Ottawa to what is now known as The Paul. The unique part of this pop up store, all of the proceeds from the sales of the merchandise is being donated directly to St. Vincent De Paul. Everything in the store is also 60% off. That means that Burberry jackets and tweed suit coats are being sold for unbelievable prices.

This pop up store is the vision of one, Paul Dole. Dole was a volunteer board member of St. Vincent De Paul who was always coming up with grand ideas and looking for ways to help. Dole had found out that Stollery's was closing their doors, which drew him to immediately hop on a Greyhound bus to Toronto where he would speak with the store owner, Mr. Ed Whaley. Once Dole returned to speak with Executive Director and good friend James Strate the two of them decided a pop up store in Ottawa was something that needed to be done. This is a hugely significant donation that will greatly help out the work that St. Vincent De Paul does in helping the community.

Located at 116 Albert St. Ottawa
