Hello !

As you know we are starting an AMAZING summer program to entice people to come out and volunteer with us during the school year, thank them for all their hard work and to give us a chance to pick a few special young people and really show them what it means to be a Young Vincentian.

We are inviting young people to contact you! I am going to be asking them to look for their closest adult conference and they will be asking you how they can help. Please please PLEASE - even though stocking in the food bank, and sorting clothes in our stores is FANTASTIC WORK! Please DO NOT FORGET TO FORM A RELATIONSHIP WITH THESE YOUNG PEOPLE! Some of the young people that will be coming to you may not want to be part of the society - they just want to help out but that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t mentor them.

To thank them for their hard work they will be placed into a raffle where a few lucky individuals will get a chance for a FREE Vincentian Trip across Ontario. My plan is to show these young people amazing programs that other communities have. I also want them to form a community with each other so that we can continue strengthening the younger demographic. These young people will be so in AWE of all that you do that they will be INSPIRED by what they can do.

I am very excited about this program but I NEED YOUR HELP!

First of we need to get the awareness of this program out there. That means we need YOU to research schools in your area and go out and print these posters and our invitation letter and hand them out to schools in your community. I CAN’T DO IT MYSELF! HELP ME PLEASE!

Secondly, in order for me to offer this for FREE I need help billeting these young people for a few days. If you feel that you are able to offer your home to us then please send me an email at sophia@ssvp.on.ca.

Last, if you have any AMAZING program that your community is doing and you feel that these young people should know about this and bring this into their cities please send me an email at sophia@ssvp.on.ca.
