Nominations Due for election of Ontario Regional Council President(posted: July 1, 2015)All good things come to an end, and we are drawing close to the end of term for our Regional President, Jim Paddon. As you know, there are strict rules for terms of office, and the Regional President term of office is 5 years. Jim's term expires on July 1, 2016. We thank Jim for his years of service as our President. Ontario Region has made many strides forward under his guidance and leadership, most notably in the fields of Social Justice and Systemic Change projects. We are expanding into the north, North of 60 program, to help our brothers and sisters in need there. We have benefitted from his strong belief in the role that spirituality plays in guiding our Vincentian actions and endeavours. Jim may be stepping down as our President but he will remain active in our region, and nationally on the Social Justice committee there. The Nomination process to seek eligible candidates for the new President begins now and closes on October 17, 2015 12:01 a.m. All nomination forms must be received at the address of the Election Committee chair by that date. The Election Committee will then review the nominations and take whatever additional steps are necessary to determine the name of the new president by January 1, 2016. This will allow the new President time to be mentored by Jim until July 1, 2016, when the official duties of ONRC President will be transferred from Jim Paddon to the New President. Pease read all attached items - Nomination Call to Action - the official Nomination notice - and the Nomination Form. You may have heard Jim speak at our June AGA meeting. Now it is time to get involved in determining who will be our next Ontario President.
