Annual Coat Drive

(posted: October 30, 2014)

The York South Particular Council (YSPC) Annual Coat Drive which began several years ago with a good seed planted by Paola Caggiano, one of our volunteers, and flourished by the generosity of our parishioners and dedication of our Conterence Vincentians.

The coats and other winter accessories were collected and delivered to the Saint Mary Immaculate Parish Hall in Richmond Hill at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2014 and were all sorted by 7:30 p.m.

Approximately 240 Neighbours in Need signed in for the event that took place the following day. It was truly a successful community building occasion filled with laughter, food, refreshments, and satisfaction as children and adults made their selections

The overflow of items was picked up by Yellow Brick House, Men's Mission, Salvation Army Food Bank, Out of the Cold, and Good Shepherd Refuge.

We all look forward to our upcoming Coat Drives.
